Mia Goth, Dan Stevens, And Zach Galifianakis To Lead “Coming Of Rage” Tale ‘Hey Bear’

Mia Goth in 'Frankenstein'

Mia Goth has had quite the impressive stint in genre films, making appearances in projects such as A24’s trilogy, Neon’s Infinity Pool, and most recently Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein. Goth already has an upcoming Star Wars role lined up alongside Ryan Gosling, and now it is being reported that she will lead the “coming of rage” tale Hey Bear. Serving as the directorial debut from Portlandia co-creator Jonathan Krisel, the film will follow Goth as Claire, a woman seeking revenge on a bear after it kills her husband.

Goth stars alongside Dan Stevens (Abigail, Cuckoo), who’s set to play her husband Gregory. After finding out the bear had been relocated instead of euthanized, Claire vows to track down the animal alongside park ranger Putt, played by Zach Galifianakis (Lilo & Stitch, The Hangover).

Hey Bear will shoot from a script by Emmy Award-winner Carrie Kemper. The film will be introduced to buyers by HanWay Films at the American Film Market in Los Angeles next month. HanWay CEO Gabrielle Stewart mentioned in a statement “As absurd and crazy as the premise of this story is, you always fully connect and empathize with Claire’s journey as she figures out how, out of grief, to take ownership of her life again. Mia Goth, Dan Stevens and Zach Galifianakis are the dream team to make us laugh, feel, and gasp with shock and horror.”

The film is currently in its pre-production phase, stay tuned for more updates.
