Queen of comedy, Melissa McCarthy (Spy) is about to deck the halls. She will be starring the holiday film Margie Claus, which she will also produce.
McCarthy has established herself as a staple in the comedy world, most recently for her portrayal of Sean Spicer on Saturday Night Live, even riding down the streets of New York City in-character taking performance art and political satire to the next level. McCarthy has also made a big mark from supporting roles (such as Megan in an her Oscar-nominated turn in Bridesmaids) to buddy comedies (co-starring with Sandra Bullock in The Heat) to headlining her own smash Spy. McCarthy excels in playing outlandish characters, selling their big personalities to audiences.
The plot of the film will involve Margie Claus, Santa’s wife, as she tries to locate and save her husband, who gets horribly lost in the line of duty as he tries to deliver his gifts. However, the film is shaping up to be a family friendly hit. McCarthy will even sing!
Those who are familiar with McCarthy’s filmography may also recognize her husband, Ben Falcone, who often has bit parts in many of her films. She will be working with him yet again, though this time he will be directing Margie Claus.
The film will be produced by New Line. It should be sliding down the chimney on November 15, 2019.
