‘Melania’ Sports Polar Opposite Rotten Tomatoes Critic And Audience Scores 

This weekend saw some life breathed back into the box office after a quiet post-holiday frame, between films like Send Help and Iron Lung. However, one  of the other releases this weekend, Melania, has managed to wedge quite a divide among audiences. 

As the title suggests, Melania focuses on the current First Lady of the United States, Melania Trump. The film specifically zooms in on the three weeks leading up to President Donald Trump’s inauguration through Melania’s point of view, as she prepares to take up residence in the White House once again.  

Mere days after its debut, Melania has already become quite a talking point, with critics not talking kindly to the film in the slightest. As of this writing, the film has a rotten 6% Critic Score on Rotten Tomatoes, and measly 1.3/10 on IMDb. 

The scores on Rotten Tomatoes in particular are quite noteworthy. Screenrant noted that, although the Critic Score is very low, the Audience Score is a completely different story. As of now, the Audience Score is at a whopping 99%, out of well over 500 ratings. 

While sometimes just a passing grade would be enough to tip the scales, ScreenRant also reported that most of the positive responses are very warm. One specific review they pulled called Melania a “fantastic flick,” while praising Melania herself as a “class act.”
