Stephanie Donnelly has found the lead for her upcoming indie romantic comedy, Crushed, in the form of Obsession star Megan Lawless. The logline for the film is below.
Joss, who is a romantic at heart. But she never seems to have crushes who feel the same way about her. Joss sets on a quest to find one perfect crush that might be the perfect person for her.
The film is set to shoot in Chicago, with no other members of the cast currently known. Lawless left her mark in this year’s hit film Obsession, but she has also appeared in The Hate U Give, Table 19, and Killer Rental. In Obsession, Lawless played Sarah, who started off as an innocent bystander and friend alongside Inde Navarette’s Nikki and Michael Johnston’s Bear. The film made its mark in cinema history at the box office, grossing $501.5 million globally against a $750,000 production budget, and easily becoming one of the most profitable films in box office history. Focus Features acquired the film for $15 million at TIFF Midnight Madness.
Represented by Alexander White Agency, 42, and Yorn Levine Barnes, Lawless will look to make waves in the upcoming Crushed, as she steps into a leading role. Stay with us at MXDWN for any updates on the project.
