Maxima Actress For ‘Superman’ Sequel ‘Man Of Tomorrow’ Narrowed Down To Few Choices

With the release of Superman last year, and multiple DC projects releasing this year, the DC Universe is starting to round out its lineup of titles. Just next year, a sequel to Superman, called Man Of Tomorrow, is close to finalizing a casting choice for a new major character.

When viewers last left Superman, he had finally thwarted Lex Luthor and his endless plots to turn the public against him, and embraced his complicated heritage which had been split between Earth and Krypton. But in Man Of Tomorrow, Clark Kent will be faced with his biggest threat yet, forcing him to put aside his differences with Luthor if the Earth has any hope of surviving.

Shortly after confirmation was given on the sequel, it was revealed that several actors from the first film will be returning, including David Corenswet as Supes, Nicholas Hoult as Luthor, and even Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane. As far as other new characters set to appear go, some have already been cast, most notably being Lars Eidinger as the villainous Brainiac.

One character that’s been confirmed to be in Man Of Tomorrow is Maxima, the alien warrior first appearing in Action Comics #645. Although no actress has been secured for Maxima just yet, Hollywood Reporter was able to note that their sources gave them the information on who was in talks to play her. Their sources confirmed that those looking to play her are Adria Arjona, Eva De Dominici, Sydney Chandler, and Grace Van Patten.

An update from DC Studios co-head James Gunn came shortly after all four actresses did a screen test in the same area that Man Of Tomorrow is filming. Reportedly, Deadline had suggested several names to be possibly playing Maxima, but Gunn denied the names that they’d listed.

Man Of Tomorrow hits theaters July 9th, 2027.
