After four years on the hit BBC show Doctor Who, British thesp Matt Smith is finally coming overseas. According to an exclusive in The Hollywood Reporter, Smith has signed up for a role in the upcoming adaptation of Seth Grahame-Smith’s popular Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. He is joining a cast that includes Lily James (Downton Abbey), Bella Heathcote (Dark Shadows), Jack Huston (HBO’s Boardwak Empire), and Sam Riley (Maleficent). In the movie he will play a priest on the search for a new wife, who proposes to James’ character. The movie is being directed by Burr Steers (Charlie St. Cloud), from a script by Steers and David O. Russell (American Hustle). Smith also has roles in Ryan Gosling’s upcoming directorial debut, Lost River, as well as Terminator: Genisys.
