With production finally nearing for The Batman: Part 2 after significant delays, the film was first set to release in 2025. Matt Reeves has shared behind the scenes images of the pre-production process. The images were released by Matt Reeves on X (@mattreevesLA) with the caption “#SnowTires🦇”.
The images reveal that the highly anticipated sequel will, in fact, be taking place during the winter. For a long time now, fans have been predicting that Mister Freeze will step into Reeves’ Elseworlds Gotham City, although no official announcement about a main villain has been made. It is reasonable to believe that the film will pick up shortly after the finale of HBO Max’s The Penguin, as the show’s first season concluded in the winter.
Returning from the previous film is, of course, Robert Pattinson in the titular role, alongside Colin Farrell returning as the Penguin, Andy Serkis returning as Alfred, Barry Keoghan returning as the Joker, and Jeffrey Wright returning as James Gordon. New faces joining the cast are Sebastian Stan, who will be playing Harvey Dent, Scarlett Johansson, and Charles Dance.
