About a month out from its theatrical release, Marvel released a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the Thunderbolts* film. After February’s Captain America: Brave New World, this is the second of three films Marvel will release in 2025, the next being The Fantastic Four: First Steps in late July.
The video opens with Sebastian Stan saying that the cast got to do a lot of their stunts themselves. The featurette primarily shows clips of the actors filming their stunt scenes for the film. Most clips include Florence Pugh, as she participates in various stunts and scenes of the film. Additionally, the video shows Pugh preparing and shooting a real base jump off of the Merdeka 118, the second-largest building in the world. It shows the behind-the-scenes filming of the jump and the final cut of what the scene looked like in the final edit.
The Thunderbolts* follows an unorthodox group of antiheroes: Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes, David Harbour as Red Guardian, Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost, Olga Kurylenko as Taskmaster, and Wyatt Russell as John Walker. The group was put together by the government through Valentina de Fontaine and ends up being forced to become heroes and work as a team to stop a looming threat.
Marvel’s Thunderbolts* releases in theaters on May 2. Check out the featurette below:
