With the high anticipation from fans of Marvel films, any piece of content that leaks through the pipeline about the upcoming Russo Brothers film Avengers: Endgame will attract plenty of attention, especially after the major release of Captain Marvel that took over box offices this month. This week a new trailer was released along with this new cast poster featuring every surviving member of the large, star-studded ensemble.

One thing that was noticed by fans in the long lineup of names is the lack of the name of Zimbabwean-American actress Danai Gurira at the top of the poster. Her character Okoye, who first appeared in Ryan Coogler’s Black Panther and immediately picked up a devoted fan following, is the only one pictured in the poster without her name credited above with the rest of the actors. This sparked quite a lot of backlash from users on social media on sites such as Twitter.

Fans are calling Marvel out for leaving Danai Gurira’s name off the poster for the new "Avengers" movie. She is the only black actress on the poster and the only actor there whose name is not featured. pic.twitter.com/fn44ino9aV

Marvel responded to the criticisms with an updated poster correcting their mistake on the first, and it ramped up the excitement for many for the upcoming film. Avengers: Endgame will release on April 26th of this year.
