The Spider-Man: Far From Home release date was moved from July 5 to July 2. The move will create slightly more distance from Far From Home and The Lion King. Both films are looking to tap into juvenile and adolescent markets and the push might help Disney avoid competition amongst its own titles. While admittedly, owning so many blockbuster properties that you need to space releases is a good problem to have – it could be detrimental to both films if they split the market.
The three day move also pushes Far From Home two days in front of Stranger Things. While it is possible this rescheduling is a coincidence, one of Netflix’s most iconic shows certainly has the potential to eclipse any film’s debut.
