Marvel Discussed ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’ and ‘Inhumans’ With Adam McKay

Director Adam McKay has recently confirmed that he was approached by Marvel to direct Guardians of the Galaxy 3 and Inhumans. After the scandal that caused James Gunn to be removed as director of the next in the Guardians series, Marvel is on the hunt for a director that can capture that distinctive sense of humor that made the Guardians such a hit.

McKay has proved that he is adept at comedy after directing films such as Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy, Step Brothers, The Other Guys, The Big Short, and Vice. He also has already established a working relationship with Marvel Studios as screenwriter for Ant-man, which was one of the funnier films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

In an interview with Josh Horowitz, he confirms that he has met with Kevin Feige about Guardians 3 and touched on the subject of an Inhumans film. Inhumans was initially meant to be released this past November but was shelved and instead made part of Marvel’s television department. Now it looks like there’s a chance of the project being revived if they are looking into finding a director.

Nothing has been confirmed yet regarding the director of Guardians of the Galaxy 3, but there should be news very soon if they intend to meet their 2020 release date goal.
