It seems that Sacha Baron Cohen will have a new comedic partner in crime for the upcoming film Grimsby. According to Empire, Mark Strong has recently joined the Sony spy-comedy and will star opposite Baron Cohen.
Strong will play a top-level British secret agent who is forced to go on the run with his obnoxious soccer hooligan brother (Baron Cohen). While the combination of silly and serious is common in buddy comedies, Baron Cohen’s penchant for unique comedic characterizations should add a dimension to the film that is well worth the price of admission.
Grimsby will be directed by Louis Leterrier, who helmed last summer’s box office winner Now You See Me. This new comedy will be a change of pace for Leterrier, who has carved out his niche in the action genre with films such as The Transporter, Unleashed and The Incredible Hulk.
Grimsby does not yet have a start date, but Strong can be seen in a handful of upcoming dramatic turns including the Alan Turing biopic The Imitation Game and suspense thriller Before I Go To Sleep.
