Margot Robbie Will Face New Threat with ‘Bad Monkeys’

Having already starred in Whiskey Tango Foxtrot and The Legend of Tarzan this year alone, Margot Robbie is continuing her trek to the peak of Hollywood stardom. She’s shown her diverse skills in a variety of fascinating roles, but now she’s adding another impressive job to her resume. According to THR, Robbie is set to produce and star in Bad Monkeys, a thriller based off the novel of the same name by Matt Ruff.

The novel tells the story of Jane Charlotte (Robbie) who is arrested for murder. She claims that she is part of a secret organization called the Department for the Final Disposition of Irredeemable Persons (aka Bad Monkeys). It sounds like a very compelling story, particularly with Robbie at the forefront. With her mysterious roles in Focus, The Wolf of Wall Street, and the upcoming Suicide Squad, the Charlotte character should feel like home for Robbie.

Since her breakout, she has been at the top of Hollywood discussions. And since the actress is also becoming a frequent producer, she’s really stepping up her game. With someone like Robbie attached to Bad Monkeys, news of potential directors and screenwriters should come soon. There is no release date as of yet, but probably look for it sometime in late 2017.
