Focus Features has debuted a trailer for director Ethan Coen’s next feature, Honey Don’t! The film stars Margaret Qualley (The Substance, Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood), Aubrey Plaza (Parks and Recreation, Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World), Charlie Day (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, The Super Mario Bros. Movie), and Chris Evans. It will follow Honey (Margaret Qualley), a private investigator who begins looking into a string of mysterious deaths in Bakersfield, California. Along the way, she butts heads with Priest Dean (Chris Evans), the head of a local church community called Four-Way Temple. She quickly realizes that Dean may be involved in the strange murder cases.
In the trailer, Honey joins forces with a detective (Charlie Day) and a desk police officer (Aubrey Plaza) to try and crack the case. We also see Priest Dean getting in way over his head while trying to shake Honey off his tail, as well as deal with aggressive forces he made deals with. The film is set to hit theaters on August 22 of this year.
Ethan Coen is a well-known director, mostly for his work with his brother, Joel Coen. Together, they directed films such as No Country for Old Men, Fargo, True Grit, and O Brother Where Art Thou? Recently, they have begun working on their respective careers. Joel Coen directed an adaptation of a Shakespeare classic with The Tragedy of Macbeth in 2021. Ethan took a different route, directing the crime comedy Drive-Away Dolls just last year, which also starred Margaret Qualley. Now, just a year later, he is releasing another crime comedy starring Margaret Qualley with Honey Don’t!
