A legal matter has brewed onto the set of Anne Hathaway‘s latest project, with one crew member reportedly being stabbed during production of the upcoming film The Witches. The attack occurred on a Warner Bros, Studios stage in Leavesden, Hertfordshire in England, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
The Hertfordshire Constabulary confirmed that this 40 year old victim sustained a neck injury and was rushed to the hospital via ambulance, where he was later released. It was also reported that the alleged perpetrator, a 54 year old man, was arrested on suspicion of causing bodily harm to an innocent bystander. He has been released on bond and is expected to make a court appearance July 17, according to police reports.
Warner Bros. declined to comment and stated that it was a police matter. It’s uncertain as to whether or not Hathaway was on set when the incident took place. A representative for the actress declined request for comment.
Hathaway is set to portray the Grand High Witch in Robert Zemeckis’s remake of the 1990 film The Witches – an adaptation of the late author Roald Dahl’s 1983 children’s novel of the same name. The remake also stars Octavia Spencer, Stanley Tucci, and Chris Rock and is slated for an October 16th, 2020 release.
