The winners of the 2026 Make-Up Artists and Hair Stylists Guild Awards, which commemorate accomplishments in make-up and hairstyling in film and TV throughout 2025, have been revealed.
The top winners on the film side of the awards include One Battle After Another and Sinners, two of the most critically acclaimed films of 2025. The films that have been sweeping this award season, consistently remaining at the top in terms of nominations. One Battle After Another won Best Contemporary Makeup and Best Contemporary Hairstyling, while Sinners won Best Period Makeup and Best Period Hairstyling. Guillermo Del Toro’s Frankenstein also won Best Special Make-Up Prosthetics.
Honorary awards were also given out. Amy Madigan has been receiving acclaim for playing Aunt Agnes in Weapons. She was able to disappear into the role due to the combination of her acting prowess and strong work by the make-up and costuming team. For her performance, she received the honorary Distinguished Artisan Award, presented to her by the film’s director, Zach Creggar, along with Leo Satkovich, Melizah Wheat, and Jason Collins. A Lifetime Achievement Award was awarded to Greg Nelson, known for his makeup effects on Raging Bull, Batman Returns, and Death Becomes Her. Another Lifetime Achievement Award for hairstyling was awarded to Judy Alexander Cory, known for hairstyling on films like Hook, Forrest Gump, and The Matrix.
