Madonna’s Biopic Is Not Moving Forward: The Queen Of Pop Expects To Make A Film About Her Career Someday

Madonna’s biopic is no longer in development at Universal Pictures. The Queen of pop’s biographical film was first announced in 2020. It was going to focus on the artist’s long and successful career. She has been performing for around four decades and has explored art beyond music, such as fashion. The singer was set to direct her biopic; however, it seems that the film will not happen anytime soon.

Last June, the cast for Madonna was announced, and the star was going to be interpreted by actress Julia Garner, casting that took a long time and was challenging to decide on. It was even considered to have Madonna playing herself in the film in the process.

The plans for the film changed because of Madonna’s music career. Last week it was announced by the pop star that would be touring during the second half of this year. She has a world tour planned in which she will be performing her greatest hits. Madonna stated that her primary focus right now is the tour. However, she expects to film a movie about her life in the future. It was speculated that the film project’s shutdown was decided last year. Universal hasn’t made any comments about it yet.
