The Oscar-winning actor from 12 Years a Slave, Black Panther and Us, is reported in final negotiations to star in the spinoff A Quiet Place: Day One, which is the next installment of the Paramount horror franchise.
Director of the film Pig Michael Sarnoski will helm the film, set for release on March 8, 2024.
The first two films took place on a post-apocalyptic Earth where largely unseen, blind alien-monsters have ravaged humanity, and decimated the human population. The aforementioned blind creatures mostly hunt using sound and echolocation forcing the surviving humans to make no noise, Hence the name “A Quiet Place” .
Krasinski and Blunt, who are married in real life, play Lee and Evelyn Abbott, the parents of two young kids named Marcus and Regan, played by Noah Jupe and Millicent Simmonds. After Krasinski’s character died in the ending of the original 2018 movie, he returned for a cameo role in the 2020 sequel, which began with a prologue before the monsters attacked. “A Quiet Place: Part II” also brought Cillian Murphy, Djimon Hounsou, Scoot McNairy and Okieriete Onaodowan to its cast.
According to Variety: “Nyong’o will have a major role in Marvel’s “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” the long-awaited sequel to 2018’s “Black Panther” reprising her role of Nakia. She was originally set to star in Apple’s “Lady in the Lake” adaptation but exited the project in May. In 2014, Nyong’o was given an academy award for best supporting actress for “12 Years a Slave.” as readers may recall, Nyong’o’s recent and notable roles include Nakia in Black Panther and Red/Addy in Jordan Peele’s “Us”.
at current, No plot detail for the film have been given to the press, but based on the title of the film, and like its predecessor “A Quiet Place Part: II”, the film is likely a prequel to the events of both films.
Michael Bay, Andrew Form and Brad Fuller will produce “A Quiet Place: Day One” via Platinum Dunes alongside Krasinski and his Sunday Night banner with partner, Allyson Seeger, who serves as executive producer.
