STXfilms is currently in negotiations with director Luke Greenfield to helm an action-thriller titled We Are Untouchable, according to Deadline.
Greenfield, best known for his work on Let’s Be Cops and The Girl Next Door, will direct from original source material devised by himself and Captain Mauzner of Billionaire Boys Club and Wonderland. The duo will be working with a screenplay derived from Oritte Bendory and Aaron Feldman, with revisions handled by Michael Diliberti and Anthony Drazan.
We Are Untouchable fixates on a collective of international college graduates residing in Mexico City, all employed to different diplomatic embassies in the city as mailroom assistants. The group then discovers they all maintain diplomatic immunity, prohibiting them from any kind of legal arrest. This discovery prompts the group to live out their wildest dreams. However, while acting out in public, the group encounters a grave danger that gets them caught in the web of a vicious syndicate who threatens to extort them for their actions.
Greenfield’s recent endeavor was Focus Features dramedy Half Brothers, which he produced and directed. With castings handled by Mary Vernieu, Greenfield has expressed interest in finding breakout stars for the project. Chernin Entertainment will be tasked with producing We Are Untouchable.
