Luke Evans to Star in ‘The Crow’

It seems as if Hollywood is dusting just about everything off these days with the intent of releasing yet another reboot. This time the property getting the treatment is The Crow, the 1994 Goth-action classic directed by Alex Proyas and starring Brandon Lee, based on the comic book of the same name by James O’Barr. Lee tragically died while filming the movie, leaving the world without a talented young actor and with two terrible sequels and a failed television series. There is hope that the new Crow will change all that. And those responsible for the upcoming films success think they have found their man.

Luke Evans is a relative newcomer, but his list of credentials thus far is impressive. He snagged the lead in the upcoming Dracula Year Zero, he recently played the villain in the Fast & Furious 6 and is soon to hit the screen as the deadly accurate Bard the Bowman in Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. So it is clearly not just his look that landed him the part of Eric Draven, but his ability to act in the realm of the fantastic/supernatural as well. Will he be the shot in the arm the Crow franchise needs to bring it back from the dead? Only time (and, of course, future Halloween costumes) will tell.
