Best known as the beautiful Aria on Freeform’s former hit series Pretty Little Liars, Lucy Hale has recently signed on as the lead in indie romantic comedy A Nice Girl Like You. Hale will star as Lucy Neal, a polite and quiet girl who decides she doesn’t want to be so nice anymore after her ex-boyfriend accuses her of being a prude.
A Nice Girl Like You is based on a book by Ayn Carillo-Gailey named Pornology: A Good Girl’s Guide To Porn. In the film adaptation of the novel, Neal is a reserved violinist who is criticized of being ‘sexaphobic’ by her old flame. In an attempt to prove him wrong, Lucy sets out to accomplish an uninhibited list of sexual to-dos that lead her to revelations about herself, lasting friendship, and love that she never knew.
The Riedell brothers, Chris and Nick, will direct while R. Wesley Sierk III, Nicholas Bogner, Jina Panebianco, and Melanie Greene are set to produce the rom-com. Filming is primed to begin in New Jersey this month according to Deadline.
