The new dramedy Lost & Found in Cleveland, starring Martin Sheen, Dennis Haysbert, and June Squibb, is set to make its world premiere at the Newport Beach Film Festival on October 19. Directed by Marisa Guterman and Keith Gerchak, this feature debut offers a “slice-of-life depiction” that explores the intertwining stories of five individuals over a single day. The film focuses on their odysseys when a popular antique appraisal show comes to their city, highlighting the enduring theme of the post-industrial American Dream.
The ensemble cast includes notable actors such as Stacy Keach, Yvette Yates Redick, and Santino Fontana, among others. Supporting roles feature performances from Dot-Marie Jones, Loretta Devine, Liza Weil, and Jon Lovitz. This cast is accompanied by a production team led by Guterman, Gerchak, and producers Shaun and Yvette Yates Redick.
Guterman described the film as “a celebration of often overlooked objects, people, and dreams,” adding that it reflects the “ultimate hope for connection, preservation, and legacy.” Gerchak echoed this sentiment, expressing his excitement for the film’s premiere and its potential emotional impact on audiences: “We think this film will catch audiences by surprise and have them laughing and crying at the same time.”
As the Newport Beach Film Festival marks its 25th anniversary, festival CEO Gregg Schwenk emphasized the significance of premiering such a “delightful and universal film.” Lost & Found in Cleveland promises to offer a heartwarming look at the hidden treasures found in both objects and people.
