It was a good day to be mad as Mad Max: Fury Road was the big winner overall at the London Film Critics Circle. George Miller’s beloved return to his most cherished film franchise took top honors winning Best Film and Best Director prizes. A cherry on top of the ten Oscar nominations the film received a few days ago. Outside of Mad Max, London critics decidedly went for hometown favorites including Tom Courtenay and surprise Oscar nominee Charlotte Rampling taking home lead acting honors for 45 Years; Brits Kate Winslet (Steve Jobs) and Mark Rylance (Bridge of Spies) also picked up prizes.
