Logan Marshall-Green May Just Make His Dreams Come True in the Upcoming DC ‘New Gods’ Movie

If you’ve ever heard the term “shoot your shot” and wondered what it might pertain to, this story is a text book definition of what putting yourself out there may do.

Logan Marshall-Green, best known for his performance in Spiderman: Homecoming as Jackson Brice, decided to go out on limb and ask to star as Mr. Miracle in the upcoming DC film directed by Ava DuVernay based on the comic’s New Gods characters.

After tweeting this this on Monday:

Marshall-Green heard back from the director of the upcoming flick through a response on twitter:

It is not unusual for an actor to separate from the Marvel universe to move to DC, and since Marshall-Green’s character most certainly will not be returning to any future Spiderman or Marvel series in general, this opportunity may just take off for hopeful performer.

Not much has been said about the film following the Jack Kirby-created New Gods other than that DuVernay would be directing. Since the failure of DC’s Justice League, the production company has been working on re-branding their films toward specific and well-loved passion projects for directors. DuVernay actually requested to direct the film following the New Gods, so it makes sense that she would be interested in hiring actors, like Marshall-Green, who show the same passion for the characters and plot as she does.

DuVernay is best known for her direction behind the Oscar-nominated Selma and A Wrinkle in Time.

We are excited to see what comes of this fun and interesting exchange, and we cannot wait to see how the film and cast comes together in the future.
