Logan Lerman And Emily Bader To Star In ’13 Going On 30′ Reboot For Netflix

Netflix is going forward with a remake of 13 Going on 30, the 2004 comedy starring Jennifer Garner and Mark Ruffalo. Garner is currently attached as an executive producer. This new adaptation is being directed by Brett Haley, who most recently directed People We Meet on Vacation earlier this year for Netflix. In an interview, Haley said “13 Going on 30 is one of those rare, perfect films. Funny, emotional, deeply human, with unforgettable performances from Jennifer Garner, Mark Ruffalo and Judy Greer. I’m a longtime fan, so stepping into this reimagining comes with tremendous responsibility. Jennifer Garner being on board as an executive producer, after playing such a big part of what made the original special, is especially meaningful.”

He will be reuniting with Emily Bader, who played the lead role in that film as well. Haley stated, “I couldn’t be more excited to reunite with Emily Bader after People We Meet on Vacation. She and the amazingly talented Logan Lerman are a magical pairing. I feel incredibly lucky to be trusted with something that means so much to so many people.” Logan Lerman, who is most well known for his roles in Perks of Being a Wallflower and Percy Jackson & the Olympians, is coming off of Oh, Hi! and a role in Only Murders in the Building. He is no stranger to rom-coms, so he not a surprising pick for this film. The new script was penned by Hannah Marks and Flora Greeson.

The original 13 Going on 30 was released in 2004 by Sony Pictures and earned nearly $100 million at the global box office. The film was about 13-year-old Jenna making a wish that transformed her into a 30-year-old woman (Jennifer Garner). Besides Garner and Ruffalo, the film featured Andy Serkis, Judy Greer and Kathy Baker. This new film has a finished script, but has yet to begin filming. It currently has no realase date. Being a Netflix production, it will likely go straight to streaming, but that has yet to be confirmed.
