Mean Girls alum Lizzy Caplan is in negotiations to take the female lead in the John M. Chu (Step Up Revolution) directed sequel Now You See Me 2. Stars from the original film, including Jesse Eisenberg (The Social Network), Woody Harrelson (The Hunger Games), Dave Franco (Neighbors), and Mark Ruffalo (Zodiac) are all set to return. We will not be seeing Isla Fisher (Wedding Crashers) reprise her role however, due to her recently announced pregnancy. Lionsgate and Summit have kept plot details under wraps, but we can expect more information as the movie’s June 10, 2016 release date inches closer. Now You See Me 2 should be a welcome complement to the series of comedic films Lizzy Caplan has coming our way. She is set to appear in two Seth Rogen (Pineapple Express) features: The Interview with James Franco (127 Hours), which will be out Christmas Day, and in the Christmas Eve comedy Xmas, which also stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt (Don Jon) and will be released next November. Additionally, Caplan also has the film version of the beloved but short-lived Party Down series in development. In the interim, Caplan is set to continue her work on the third season of the Emmy-nominated drama Masters of Sex on Showtime.
