Although most of the Marvel attention has been on Thunderbolts* and Avengers: Doomsday, Spider-Man: Brand New Day has started picking up steam. Liza Colón-Zayas has now been confirmed to be boarding the cast for the new comic book movie.
As far as her film roles go, Colón-Zayas has appeared in a wide variety of films, from family-friendly projects like If to more serious affairs with The Purge: Election Year and United 93. Her most widely recognized role, however, is that of Tina Marrero in The Bear, starring in all 29 episodes of the show alongside Jeremy Allen White and Ayo Edebri.
Tom Holland is returning to Brand New Day to continue the story of Spider-Man. Last time audiences saw him was in No Way Home, when he had to enlist the help of Doctor Strange to save his universe, with everyone forgetting Peter Parker in the process.
With Deadline reporting on the casting of Colón-Zayas, fans are also reminded that apart from Holland, the cast now includes Sadie Sink as well. ScreenRant noted that it’s currently unknown just exactly who both actresses will be playing. However, given the placement of the film being between Doomsday and Secret Wars, many are speculating if this is going to be when Marvel starts to introduce other heroes who will play a pivotal role in Secret Wars.
