Lionsgate Reinstates Mask Mandates In Offices

Lionsgate, who found success earlier this year through its fourth entry in the ongoing John Wick series, is reinstating a mask mandate at their main office in Santa Monica in the wake of a new wave of COVID. COVID protocols have not been reinstated since last May when restrictions were relaxed.

The company sent out an email to their employees, asking them to mask up once again before heading into the office due to several employees catching the virus in the new wave. Lionsgate also requires its employees to self-screen before they come into the office, according to Hollywood Reporter.

According to the CDC, numbers of those admitted to the hospital in the United States were up 14% this week due to the new variety of the virus that has been circulating. Even though there is a spike in these numbers, experts have said there isn’t much cause for concern, or at least not more so than previous variants of the Omicron virus. This particular one has been circulating since April of this year.

As the New York Times states, akin to the first outbreak of omicron, this variant isn’t expected to cause a major wave.
