Lionsgate Launches Mel Gibson & Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson Film Into Cannes Market

The sales launch for the true crime thriller, Boneyard, has officially begun! Lionsgate is launching its campaign for the film in Cannes. Based on true events, Boneyard details the story of an FBI agent who teams up with the Albuquerque police department to hunt down a serial killer known as the Bone Collector. However, conflict arises as the chief of police and one of his officers begin to allege that the suspect may be in their very own department.

This project is joined by a cast of Mel Gibson, who plays FBI Agent Petrovick, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson as Police Chief Carter, Nora Zehetner, and Brian van Holt, who recently took part in the mini series Jo vs. Carole.

According to Deadline, Asif Akbar is set to direct this piece which was scripted by himself alongside Vincent E. McDaniel, Hank Byrd, and Koji Steven Sakai. The story was curated by McDaniel, who is also set to produce the film alongside Colin Bates and Akbar.

Jackson and Gibson both have other upcoming projects with Lionsgate aside from Boneyard. Jackson will be starring in The Expendables 4 which is being headed by Lionsgate and Millennium Media. The Expendables 4 is set to hit theaters in September this year. Gibson was recently revealed to be the director of Lionsgate’s Flight Risk, starring Mark Wahlberg.
