According to Deadline, Lily Collins has just signed on to headline Titan. Austin Bunn both penned the script and helmed the film. Bunn is most known for creating the screenplay for Kill Your Darlings, a period piece surrounding a murder in 1944 which stars Daniel Radcliffe and Dane DeHaan.
The deal comes just before the prestigious Cannes Film Festival, which is the perfect moment for XYZ Films, as they aim to shop the project to international buyers during this time.
In Bunn’s directorial debut, Collins will portray a young musician who seeks to understand the life of her earth-advocating big sister. Sadly, her sister did not live to see her follow in her footsteps, as she died in a thicket of trees which she had defended. Collins’ character’s intrigue leads her to a former colleague of her sister’s and together, they go to the site of her sister’s passing. It looks like the danger is hardly over, and soon Collins’ character may reach the same fate as her sister.
Collins has most recently acted in Marti Noxon’s To the Bone and Bong Joon Ho’s Okja, which are both housed at Netflix.
