Kristen Bell,Seth Rogen, and Kelsey Grammer star in the upcoming Netflix film Like Father.
In the trailer, we see a disgruntled and heartbroken Bell who has just been left at the alter. Maybe even more surprisingly, her long absent father has come back into her life on the exact same day. As one could assume, all of this would lead to, you guessed it, a black-out, drunken night with whomever was around her in her time of need. Of course, Grammer, who plays her father, is the one there in the moment.
The next morning, she wakes to find that she and her father have departed on the cruise she’s meant to be on for her honeymoon. There, after meeting a seemingly patient and goofy Rogen character who listens to all of her problems, she needs to face her problems head on. Since she buries all of her issues in her work, though, they may be a bit harder to reach than we think.
The trailer is filled with both emotional and heartwarming moments as we watch a father and daughter rekindle a relationship that they never knew they could have with one another. We can only hope that, through their new-found connection, barriers will be broken and they can both find happiness within their losses.
The film was drected by Lauren Miller Rogen and is set to release on August 3, 2018, on Netflix.
