This article will contain spoilers for The Fantastic Four: First Steps.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps just recently released in theaters, and fans have been buzzing over the film’s mid-credit scene. So much so that the scene was leaked due to viewers recording the film in early access screenings.

The mid-credit scene is four years later and shows Vanessa Kirby’s character, Susan Storm, reading to her son Franklin. As Sue looks for another book to read with Franklin, she feels a disturbing presence. When the camera pans back to Franklin, he is looking into the face and holding the mask of the one and only Victor Von Doom, aka Doctor Doom.

This scene does not come as much of a surprise, as the Fantastic Four cast of Pedro Pascal, Joseph Quinn, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Kirby were already confirmed to be part of Avengers: Doomsday. Additionally, the end-credit scene shown in Thunderbolts* introduced the Fantastic Four’s ship in the same timeline as Earth-616, the MCU timeline. And, Doom’s character was always one of Marvel’s First Family’s greatest adversaries.

This end-credit scene seems to hint that the Fantastic Four will play a major part in Doomsday, and how they choose to go up against Doom, played by MCU Alum, Robert Downey Jr.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps is now playing in theaters.
