Leonardo DiCaprio’s Production Company Signs Deal With Sony

Appian Way Productions, the production company started and run by Leonardo DiCaprio and President of Production Jennifer Davisson, has officially singed First-Look Deal with Sony, per Variety. The deal will be multiple years and they are in the midst of creating two projects. Davisson served as the producer for DiCaprio films like The Wolf of Wall Street, Shutter Island, and The Revenant.  Most recently, Sony produced DiCaprio’s latest project, Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

Both sides of the new partnership expressed a great deal of praise for one another, with DiCaprio saying of Sony chairman Tom Rothman: “For over three decades in the business, Tom has never adhered to the traditional Hollywood norms… I could not be more excited to enter into a new phase of partnerships with Sony.” Rothman says of DiCaprio and Davisson: “His producing and acting instincts — superbly supported by Jennifer — are both driven by service to the best material in the world. At Sony, we feel like we just landed a rare GOAT deal — as Michael Jordan and Tom Brady are to basketball and football, so is Leo to film.”

DiCaprio’s latest project is Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon, which also features Robert DeNiro. It is slated to be released in 2021 through Paramount Pictures.
