Lee Daniels, director of The Butler and Precious, is now turning to the thriller genre with his newest project currently titled Demon House. The film will focus on the real-life struggles of one family against the unexplainable supernatural effects witnessed by government and hospital staff.The film is based on the life of Latoya Ammons, whose family suffered from alleged demonic possession and other supernatural events for several years. Their ordeal brought in Department of Child Services case managers, hospital staff, and the police force of Gary, Indiana, but no one could explain what they were seeing. First broken by Deadline, Lee Daniels’ film will focus on the events documented by experts outside of the family. The film will cover both medical and spiritual efforts to determine the real cause behind the episodes that included levitation and vicious attacks that went unremembered by Ammons’ children.
The film will be produced and distributed by Relativity Media alongside Turn Left Productions.
