The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that LeBron James will star in new action comedy titled Public Enemy. The film will look at the speed of media within its current landscape. James and Maverick Carter’s company SpringHill Entertainment are teaming up with Channing Tatum‘s Free Association and New Line to produce the film. Lucas Carter will write the screenplay.
SpringHill Entertainment has previously produced NBC’s The Wall, drama Top Boy and Carter sold The Gun Show to Paramount Studios, while Free Association has been apart of franchises such as 22 Jump Street and Magic Mike. Both companies seem to be working on big projects in the upcoming future and will look to make a big move with this film.
James was last seen, aside from on the basketball court, in Amy Schumer’s Trainwreck. He will next voice a character in Smallfoot before heading to work on Public Enemy.
