Lyndsy Fonseca, musician Russ, and Tom Cavanagh will star in the upcoming film Don’t Move. The rest of the cast includes Hunter King, Rob Riggle, and Joseph Lee Anderson with cameos from T-Pain, Matt Beidel, and Murray himself. The movie finished shooting recently.
The horror-thriller is an adaptation of James “Murr” Murray’s 2020 novel that he co-wrote with Darren Wearmouth. Director Maclain Nelson co-wrote the script with Murray and Wearmouth.
The movie follows Foneseca’s character, Megan Forrester, who suffers a great tragedy that results in the loss of her family, but soon finds refuge in her church group’s camping getaway. However, what was supposed to be a fun escape becomes dangerous when the group comes face to face with a predator in the forest.
Murr spoke about how he as a comedian was inspired to write about horror. He said, “A lot of folks ask me how an Impractical Joker can write horror. One could argue that what they do to me on Jokers is horror. I’m so excited to be working with this incredible team and ensemble cast to bring our novel Don’t Move to the big screen.”
Director Nelson added, “I am thrilled to tackle a true horror film. The ensemble cast we have assembled for this movie is beyond talented. This story will break your heart and then rip it out of your rib cage. I am honored that Murr has trusted me with the script adaptation and direction of his first narrative feature film.”
The film is produced by David M.Wolf while Jeremy Starline, Gina James, Lou Margrone, Rich Osiashvili, and Brian Schell executive produce. Ethan Berman acts as co-producer and Kylie Rohead as associate producer.
