Laura Kosann to Adapt Comic Favorite ‘Mercy Sparx’ for MGM

MGM has hired Laura Kosann to create the comic book hero film Mercy Sparx. The creator of the comic is Josh Blaylock, who imagined the devil girl who has been hired by heaven to take destroy rogue angels.  Mercy struggles to determine which side is the lesser evil and learns her place in the world. Mercy Sparx has over 12 issues of the ongoing series.

Laura Kosann is writing the screenplay. Kosann wrote the screenplays for The Ideal Woman and From Little Acorcus Grow. She is most known for her work on The Social Ones. She is currently occupied with several different projects with Sarah Condon. Kosann wrote the screenplay, directed, and produced The Social Ones which took home the Best Comedy award at Cinequest. Mercy Sparx will be Kosann’s second project.

Josh Blaylock published his first issue of Mercy Sparx 10 years ago. His comic has been recognized by MGM as franchise with strong leading female character. MGM, The Picture Company, and Assemble Media are set to reimagine the empowering female comic book on the big screen. MGM has not released any further information on when the film will be released.

Lawrence Flynn: Lawrence Flynn is a Cal Poly Bronco. He'll be graduating with his English major in the spring of 2022. Now he is geeky like Leonard from the Big Bang Theory but less annoying. But unlike Leonard, Lawrence is an expert chef in the kitchen. He's also an amateur woodworker, Lawrence is also into cars, he dreams of owning a Shelby cobra. Finally, Lawrence is a Chargers fan.
