Laura Dern and Jack O’Connell Will Act in ‘Trial by Fire’

Actors Laura Dern and Jack O’Connell will be working together to bring new film Trial by Fire to the big screen. Dern and O’Connell will play two characters from drastically different backgrounds: Dern will act as a housewife while O’Connell will tackle the role of an unfairly convicted man. Their relationship will center around her character’s battle to get justice for his treatment in the judicial system. This plot is inspired by a news story by David Grann, anchoring it to actual events.

Dern, who is known for roles in films like Jurassic Park, The Fault in Our Stars, and Wild has another exciting project lined up: she is playing a role in the upcoming installment of the newest Star Wars trilogy! In Episode VIII: The Last Jedi, she will be acting as Vice Admiral Amilyn Holdo. Meanwhile O’Connell, who has worked on films like Unbroken, 300: Rise of an Empire, and ’71 will be acting in a currently untitled Alexander McQueen movie.

Currently, the role of director is in hands of Ed Zwick (Legends of the Fall), who has tried his hand at many roles in the industry, working at times as producer, writer, and director for countless other movies. Shooting will start in October, though no release date has been named yet.
