Breaking Glass Pictures has partnered with indie darling Larry Clark to release his 2012 film Marfa Girl on the big screen.The film, winner of the Marcus Aurelius Award for Best Film at the 2012 Rome Film Festival, has previously been available for paid streaming on Clark’s own website. In an unusual trajectory, it is now slated for theatrical release. According to Deadline.com, plans are to release the coming-of age drama in 10-15 theaters in the spring of 2015.
Clark, best known for his groundbreaking 1995 teen drama Kids, returns to form in this tale of life in a small West Texas town. In a statement, Clark said “I think Marfa Girl is my best film or at least as good as any film I’ve made”. Rich Wolff, CEO of Breaking Glass, struck the deal with Spotlight Pictures Ryan McCombs.
