Robert Pattinson and Zendaya play a happy couple one week before their marriage, but an unexpected turn will cause havoc before they say, “I do.” Norwegian writer-director Kristoffer Borgli made waves with his feature debut, Sick of Myself, and then really turned heads with his follow-up, Dream Scenario. Borgli wrote and directed The Drama, which A24 is distributing.
The trailer shows the couple engaging in playful banter as they awkwardly attempt to take photos. As it zooms in, we can see that ‘DRAMA’ will soon ensue, although we’re unsure what kind and from what source. It has an unsettling tone of whimsy and haunting qualities that give you creepy vibes.
The film also stars Mamoudou Athie, Alana Haim, and Hailey Gates.
A24 posted a physical Boston Globe announcement for “the wedding of the year” on Instagram, which announces the movie’s release date and the date of the wedding at the end of the trailer.
Zendaya & Robert Pattinson will reunite as co-stars in The Odyssey from director Christopher Nolan. They will also be seen on screen together again in Denis Villeneuve’s Dune: Part Three.
