Kristen Stewart (Spencer, Personal Shopper) is set to star in a new upcoming comedy film called Sacramento, directed by Michael Angarano (This Is Us), who also stars in the movie. The cast is also composed of Michael Cera (Juno, Superbad), Maya Erskine (Pen15), AJ Mendez (Blade Of The 47 Ronin), Iman Karram (Daft State), and Rosalind Chao (Mulan). The film was also written by Angarano and Co-written by Chris Smith.
Sacramento follows Rickey (Angarano), an energetic young man who takes his quieter long-time friend Glenn (Cera) on a road trip from Los Angeles to Sacramento. The trip brings their past to light and makes them question their future. Stewart plays Rosie, Glenn’s wife, and Erskine Rickey’s wife, Tallie.
The film is being produced by Stephen Braun (Bee-Hive Production), Eric B. Fleischman (The Wonder Company), Chris Abernathy, Sam Grey, Angarano, and co-writer Smith.
Angarano talked about the Feature to Deadline:
“We feel grateful and very excited to make a movie like Sacramento. Chris Smith and I started writing this film years ago, after a pilot of ours didn’t get picked up. We’re honored to be working with this wildly talented cast and crew led by Stephen at Bee-Hive who is not only a great partner, but a true collaborator. It’s already been quite a journey but we’re finally ready to go make a movie.”
Angarano’s latest project is Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer, where he plays Robert Serber. Also, he is set to perform in Kevin Costner’s Horizon.
Sacramento will start production this Spring.
