Kevin Kline and Timothy Olyphant become the most recent additions to upcoming film The Starling, a Melissa McCarthy and Chris O’Dowd drama directed by Ted Melfi according to Deadline.
It was revealed this June that Limelight would reunite with McCarthy and O’Dowd after the success of St. Vincent, and work on a scripted drama with a chock full of comedic instances. The story of Matt Harris’ written drama The Starling follows a married couple trying to re-establish their relationship after suffering a loss. The husband is handling his grief by means of distance while Lily Maynard attempts to heal herself by growing a beautiful garden in their backyard only to find herself attacked by a starling that built a nest nearby. Lily turns to a psychiatrist in hopes of trouble shooting her bird problem.
Entertainment One and Boies/Schiller Film Group will co-fund the film with Limelight alongside the production talents of Dylan Sellers and Chris Parker.
Kline is recently coming off the heels of a Tony winning performance on Broadway in which he starred in Present Laughter. His most recent film is Disney’s live action Beauty and the Beast. Olyphant was recently seen in a surprise role in Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time In Hollywood.
