According to Deadline, Kevin Costner (Dances with Wolves) might join in on Aaron Sorkin’s (The West Wing) feature directorial debut, Molly’s Game. The movie will be based on a memoir by Molly Bloom. It’s a true story of her life as a young and charming Olympic level skier who also ran one of the biggest and most exclusive poker rings for 10 years. She later gets caught by the FBI. Her league of players included a dynamic grouping of Hollywood super stars, highly known athletes, business tycoons, and not know to her, people from the Russian mafia.
Though Costner’s casting has not yet been confirmed, he will potentially stand along side Jessica Chastain (Bring Him Home) and Idris Elba (Star Trek Beyond).
Molly’s Game was one of the most sought out films last May at the Cannes Film Festival. STX Entertainment won the film’s bid and picked up U.S. rights. Filming begins next month.
Costner will next be seen in Hidden Figures this December. The film is already generating plenty of awards buzz for its cast.
