Kevin Costner Gives Big Update On Horizon: An American Saga Chapter 3

Horizon: An American Saga- Chapter 1, directed by Kevin Costner first came out in June and was set to be the first part of four. Since Chapter 1’s release the project has hit many snags, but Costner has shared a positive update.

Chapter 1 had a rough run at the box office making a grand total of $34 million, according to ComicBook reporting. Alongside a poor box office performance, the first installment also received a 49% critic score and a 70% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. This poor performance caused Horizon: An American Sage- Chapter 2 to lose its release date.  Despite these hurdles, Chapter 3 began production in June.

“I love the journey of this thing,” Costner said according to ComicBook. “It’s been the hardest thing I’ve ever done, but I love this movie. I love the second one – and the third one’s even harder than the first two, and the fourth one completes the story. I made a promise to myself, I’m trying desperately to keep it, and to bring it to people, these kinds of giant stories, and I hope that people fall in love with these characters.”

The Saga is a Western Epic set during the US Civil War, two parts of which are already filmed, one currently in production, and one waiting yet.
