Kenan Thompson And Kel Mitchell Team Up For New Horror Comedy

Beloved comedy duo Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell have announced their next project together: a horror comedy based on the classic Mary Shelley novel, Frankenstein. The film will be called Kenan & Kel Meet Frankenstein and will be co-produced by Thompson’s Artists for Artists company and Range Media Partners. The duo will be playing deliovery drivers who encounter Frankenstein’s Monster after arriving at a creepy house on their rout. It is set to begin production this summer. The script will be penned by Jonah Feingold (Dating & New York31 Candles).

The former Nickelodeon stars announced the project during a Good Sports broadcast on Prime Video. Mitchell was filling in for Kevin Hart at the time, and they took that opportunity to drum up excitement for the film. Thompson stated, “Kel and I have always loved finding new ways to work together, and this project felt like the perfect mix of nostalgia, comedy, and something completely unexpected. We’re excited to bring a fresh take on a classic monster story and have some fun doing it.” Mitchell pitched in saying, “Coming back together always feels natural, and this lets us tap into everything people love about our dynamic while trying something totally new. It’s funny, it’s scary, and it’s a great ride.”

Kenan and Kel are best known for their time on Nickelodeon, namely for Kenan & Kel, a spin-off of another Nickelodeon sit-com, All That . They also starred in the classic kids comedy Good Burger in 1997, and they recently reunited for Good Burger 2 in 2023. Kenan & Kel Meet Frankenstein does not have a release date as of yet, but with production starting this summer, a 2027 release date seems likely.
