Strange things are afoot at the Circle-K. Bill and Ted are officially returning to the big screen after twenty-seven interminably long years. As reported by Deadline, the dynamic duo will make their triumphant return with the help of many of the original cast and crew.
The title of the third movie in the series is Bill & Ted Face the Music, and Alex Winter and Keanu Reeves are returning to play the title characters. The film is currently in pre-production, and the script was written by series creators Chris Matheson (A Goofy Movie) and Ed Solomon (Men in Black). Dean Parisot (Galaxy Quest) will take on directorial duties.
“We couldn’t be more excited to get the whole band back together again,” Reeves and Winter said in a joint statement. “Chris and Ed wrote an amazing script, and with Dean at the helm, we’ve got a dream team.”
The movie will follow wanna-be California rockers Bill & Ted as they struggle to fulfill their destiny of saving the universe by writing a killer rock & roll song. The only problem is that they are now aging dads, far-removed from the tubular time-traveling adventures of their youth. When a visitor from the future warns them that only their music can save the world, they set off on another time-traveling adventure, this time aided by their daughters. Perhaps, with the help of famous historical figures and timeless musicians, they can write the ultimate tune that will bring peace to the universe.
Bill & Ted Face the Music will release at an undetermined point in the future (hopefully before 2688). In the meantime, be excellent to each other.
