Veteran studio communications executive Katie Martin Kelley has exited her role as Executive Vice President of Communications at Warner Bros. Motion Picture Group to join Netflix as Vice President of Communications, Film. Beginning September 8, Martin Kelley will report directly to Netflix Chief Communications Officer Dani Dudeck. In her new capacity, she will oversee global publicity and media relations strategy across the feature film division led by Film Chairman Dan Lin. Her remit encompasses live-action films, documentaries, and kids and family animation, including Netflix Animation Studios, alongside kids and family animated series, licensing, and international film portfolios.
Martin Kelley joins Dudeck’s executive communications leadership team, which includes Kelly Pakula (VP Global Corporate Communications), Oliver Rawlins (VP Communications, EMEA), Flávia Vigio (VP Communications, LATAM), and Joy Albert (VP Communications, APAC). Her appointment arrives as Netflix prepares to expand theatrical distribution windows for upcoming high-profile projects, including Greta Gerwig’s Narnia: The Magician’s Nephew and Charlie vs the Chocolate Factory, alongside titles such as La Bola Negra, David Fincher’s Animals, and the animated features Steps and Ray Gunn.
During her tenure at Warner Bros. Pictures, New Line Cinema, Warner Bros. Pictures Animation, and genre label Warner Bros. Clockwork. Prior to Warner Bros., she served as Chief Communications Officer at MGM Studios under De Luca and Abdy and previously spent 12 years overseeing domestic publicity and corporate communications at Paramount Pictures.
