Kanye West’s newest project, Jesus is King, will release in theaters across the nation as compliment to his ninth studio album under the same name. This Saturday, IMAX unveiled their collaboration with the controversial musician, which is set to release on October 25th.
“Filmed in the summer of 2019, Jesus Is King brings Kanye West’s famed Sunday Service to life in the Roden Crater, visionary artist James Turrell’s never-before-seen installation in Arizona’s Painted Desert,” IMAX said in a statement. “This one-of-a-kind experience features songs arranged by West in the gospel tradition along with music from his new album Jesus Is King — all presented in the immersive sound and stunning clarity of IMAX.”
West also mentioned that he showed sneak peeks of the film over the weekend at Detroit’s Fox Theatre and Chicago’s Roosevelt University. The film’s official poster is shown below.
The Jesus Is King album was speculated to be released on September 27 but, since it’s delay, it has now been attached to this upcoming film release. As fans are waiting to get a taste of Kanye’s latest album, his wife Kim Kardashian has been trying to keep people informed on social media. Rest assured, whatever West is set to promote will have everyone’s attention, for better or worse.
