The upcoming Jurassic World Rebirth has obtained a lot of buzz. The original Steven Spielberg helmed film has gained many sequels evolving from Jurassic Park to Jurassic World. Now the newest installment is about to hit the big screen.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, “Jurassic World Rebirth should open anywhere from $120 million to $125 million over the five-day holiday corridor.” However, the numbers could be lower, more towards the $90 millions. This is a drop compared to the 2015 release of Jurassic World which saw a domestic opening weekend of $208.8 million.
The movie is going to branch out a bit from its predecessors. The entirely new cast includes Scarlett Johansson, Mahershala Ali, Jonathan Bailey, Rupert Friend, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Luna Blaise, David Iacono, Audrina Miranda, Philippine Velge, Bechir Sylvain and Ed Skrein. The movie is also set five years after Jurassic World Dominion. There’s also a new director to the franchise, Gareth Edwards. However, David Koepp wrote the script for the original franchise and the new release.
Jurassic World Rebirth is hitting theaters Wednesday July 2, which means, as Screen Rant put it, “an extended five-day weekend.” This is only the second time a movie in the franchise has released on a Wednesday, the first was Jurassic Park Ⅲ. The extra two days may help Jurassic World Rebirth at the box office but nothing is certain.
