Colin Trevorrow (Safety Not Guaranteed), the man behind the camera of the upcoming dino-adventure Jurassic World, has officially chosen his next project, due to start shooting this September: an original screenplay entitled Book of Henry, written by New York Times bestselling novelist Gregg Hurwitz.
Sidney Kimmel Entertainment, a company with a bit of an up and down track record (they’ve been behind some cult hits like The Place Beyond the Pines but also some misfires such as I, Frankenstein), is producing. SKE president Carla Hacken is currently keeping the plot under lock and key, but Trevorrow seems confident in the story’s appeal, saying, “Book of Henry is a remarkable piece of screenwriting that has stuck with me for years. I feel very fortunate to be able to tell this story. It is a true original.”
Helming this production pushes Trevorrow’s commitment to both co-write and direct DreamWorks’ sci-fi thriller Intelligent Life to a later date.
As for Hurwitz, the author is best known for novels such as Don’t look Back, You’re Next, and Tell No Lies; most recently, Hurwitz was asked to adapt his novel Orphan X for the silver screen which is being produced by Bradley Cooper and could include the star in its cast.
